He also held discussions with Mark Boucher, the head coach, and Kieron Pollard, the batting coach, underscoring his commitment to regaining full fitness and contributing to the team’s success.

The 33-year-old Mumbai batter received clearance to resume playing from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after undergoing surgery to address a sports hernia in Munich, Germany. His return to the fold comes as a significant boost for Mumbai Indians, who have struggled to secure victories in the ongoing IPL 2024 season.

Yadav, renowned for his innovative stroke play and 360-degree batting repertoire, last participated in competitive cricket during India’s T20I series against South Africa in December 2023. Despite sustaining an ankle injury while fielding in the third T20I match in Johannesburg, where he also notched a scintillating century off 56 balls, Yadav played a pivotal role in India’s series triumph under his leadership.
