Suryakumar Yadav made a grand entrance into the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season with a scintillating fifty against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday. Despite not being in the Mumbai Indians’ initial playing XI, Surya emerged as an impactful substitute in the second innings when the team, led by Hardik Pandya, chased a challenging target of 197 runs at the Wankhede Stadium.
His match-winning 52 against RCB earned him the coveted dressing-room Player of the Match award. In a unique move, MI has introduced a special accolade to recognize the standout performers in each match. Apart from Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan also received this honour from MI owner Nita Ambani.
