When Adam Gilchrist inquired about the possibility of Indian players joining T20 leagues outside the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sehwag quipped, “No, we don’t need to. We are rich people, we don’t go to poor countries for other leagues.”

Virender Sehwag further illustrated his point with anecdotes from his personal experiences. Recalling an offer to play in the Big Bash League (BBL), Sehwag humorously stated that the offered amount was comparable to what he spends on his holidays.

“I received an offer to participate in the Big Bash. I said, ‘Okay, how much money are you offering?’ They said some $100,000. I replied, ‘I can spend that much money on my holidays,'” Virender Sehwag shared, eliciting laughter.

The humor continued as Sehwag recounted another instance when a British media company expressed interest in having him on their panel. However, upon revealing his asking price, the broadcaster swiftly withdrew.

“Once I got a call from Sky Sports that ‘We’d love to have you on our panel.’ I said, ‘You can’t afford me.’ They insisted, so I quoted £10,000 a day. They promptly conceded, ‘Yes, you’re right, we can’t,'” Virender Sehwag recounted with amusement.

Amidst the banter, Sehwag didn’t miss the chance to share his preferred playing XI for India at the upcoming T20 World Cup, featuring names like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and others.

With his signature wit and humorous anecdotes, Sehwag’s conversation with Gilchrist showcased the lighter side of cricket, leaving fans entertained and amused.
