Harshit Rana has once again found himself in the spotlight, this time for giving a send-off to Abishek Porel during the Kolkata Knight Riders’ clash against the Delhi Capitals at the Eden Gardens. This incident comes after Rana’s controversial send-off to Mayank Agarwal earlier in the season, drawing criticism from various quarters.

In the ongoing game against Delhi Capitals, Rana faced a challenging start, conceding 16 runs in his initial over. However, he quickly turned the tables by dismissing DC opener Abhishek Porel in his subsequent over. Porel attempted an unconventional shot, resulting in his dismissal as the ball uprooted the middle and leg stumps.

Following the wicket, Rana gestured for Porel to leave the field before celebrating with his teammates. Harshit Rana’s on-field behaviour has raised eyebrows, especially considering his previous send-off incident with Mayank Agarwal. In that instance, Rana faced heavy fines, with the IPL deducting 60 per cent of his match fees.

While Harshit Rana refrained from giving a flying kiss send-off this time, the recurrence of such incidents may lead to further scrutiny and potential disciplinary action.

As the match progresses, Rana will hope to maintain focus on his performance while avoiding any further controversy. His actions on the field not only reflect on his individual conduct but also impact the team’s image and reputation. Thus, it’s imperative for Rana to exercise restraint and uphold the spirit of fair play in future encounters.
