Former England captain Eoin Morgan has picked Team India as his favourite to win the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup as well. The upcoming marquee event will take place in the West Indies and the USA, starting June 1. Morgan also believes India’s strength and depth make them the strongest team in the tournament even with injuries as well.
During a panel discussion on Sky Sports alongside former cricketer Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton, he said, “For me, the strongest side even with injuries throughout the tournament is India without a doubt,” Morgan said. “The strength and depth is absolutely incredible at the moment. We are talking about the players who missed out in the squad of 15 because of the quality they possess.”

“They are favourites for me. The quality that they have on paper if they produce it I think they can beat anybody quite in the tournament,” he further added.
Notably, India last won the T20 World Cup during the inaugural edition in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni as well. The young
Indian side defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by five runs in Johannesburg to lift the trophy as well. Since then, they haven’t won any title in the T20 World Cup. Moreover, they lost in the last edition of the tournament in Australia after losing to eventual champions England in
the semi-finals by 10 wickets as well.
However, Team India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland in New York on June 5 as well.
