So IPL 10 has finally seen it’s maiden super over. The nation might be praising Jasprit Bumrah for he bowled an exceptional super over, when it mattered the most. But someone who made sure that the match would reach at that position was Gujarat Lions’ recently recruited, Irfan Pathan.
32-year all-rounder bowled the final over in the Mumbai Indians innings. 11 runs were required off the over and you generally back the batting side when you are chasing 11 off six balls.
His statesman, Krunal Pandya, tonked him for six on the first ball itself. A single on the next ball saw the equation being reduced to four runs off four balls. Bumrah was dismissed off the next delivery but what worked in Indian’s favour was that Krunal Pandya was back on the strike.
A couple and a single saw the equation come down to one run off the ultimate delivery. The experience in Pathan enabled him to bowl a dot ball. And the rest was taken care by Ravindra Jadeja!
