India, having dominated Group A, continued their strong performance in the Super 8 with an impressive victory over Afghanistan in their last match. Despite early setbacks with top-order batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli being dismissed quickly, a rapid 60-run partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya ensured India set a competitive total.

Defending the score of 181, India’s bowlers kept the Afghan batsmen under control. Pacers Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah each took three wickets, securing a 47-run victory for India.
