The day after India’s triumphant victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Jasprit Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, celebrated by treating her world-champion husband to ice cream. Sanjana, who was in the West Indies for broadcasting duties, shared an Instagram story featuring a jubilant Bumrah flaunting a victory sign, captioning it, “Took this World Champion for ice cream in the morning.” The couple was accompanied by their son, Angad, on the Caribbean island.
During the post-match celebrations, Sanjana and Bumrah captured several memorable moments on camera. In a heartwarming scene, Bumrah embraced his wife on-air while being interviewed after India’s win. He also proudly draped the winner’s medal around their son Angad’s neck.
Jasprit Bumrah, who was named the Player of the Tournament for his outstanding bowling performance, reflected on the significance of the victory. In a post-match interview conducted by Sanjana, Bumrah shared his feelings about the win.

“It’s not really sinking in yet,” he said. “Mid-way through the innings, we were confident but also a bit nervous. But I am really happy to get a win like this.” He expressed his joy in having Angad witness the historic moment, adding, “It was a great tournament. Angad being here and seeing his father win the World Cup is an indescribable feeling. Contributing to a tournament like this is something special.”

When asked about his experience playing for an unbeaten Team India throughout the tournament, Jasprit Bumrah praised the team’s performance. “Excellently exceptional,” he stated. “All praise comes short. The way we have played, held our calm with the expectations, and stuck to our processes was incredible. Even in the final stages, where it seemed a bit tense, we did not panic. Words fall short to describe it.”
