A major controversy has broken out after famous cricketer Amit Mishra made some revelations while talking to internet personality Shubhankar Mishra during a podcast. Mishra spoke about his experience with leading Indian batter Virat Kohli, which former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa strongly has completely denied.
Incidentally, Robin Uthappa has been a teammate of both Mishra and Kohli, having played for India A at the domestic level and the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the IPL. Uthappa, part of the RCB team in 2009 and 2010, expanded on his experiences of a Kohli far removed from the aggressive Delhiite he described, and transformed into the man he is today. He feels that Kohli is now enjoying the fruits of the endeavours he planted 15 years ago.
“I have in fact seen Virat evolve from a brash, young Delhi boy to an evolved human being. The evolution has been quite tremendous, to be honest. Today, he’s practically reaping what he had sown 15 years ago,” said Robin Uthappa on cricket.com/tv.

Uthappa also referred to one of the features he feels is among the most important in Kohli: his relentless determination combined with a belief in himself. He said, “As fantastic as it seems when a 19-year-old Virat talked openly about his thoughts, it’s equally good and reassuring to see how he’s matured with matters of different nature over the years.”.
“One thing that has always struck me about Cheeku is his self-belief. If I’m listening to a 19-year-old kid saying he believes in himself, as a person, you’ll be appalled, thinking, ‘what the hell is this guy saying?’ But, 10 years later, you see the fruition, and it all makes sense,” added Robin Uthappa.

Uthappa’s thoughts offer extended observation into the journey of Kohli, laying a strong emphasis on how much personal growth, so to speak, and professional accolades define him. Such a point of view counterattacks the controversy set up by Mishra’s comments and paints a very distinct picture of Kohli as a player who has matured much and is utterly blossoming, both on and off the field.
