Dinesh Karthik Joins SA20 As New League Ambassador

It was reported on Monday, August 5, that Dinesh Karthik would be joining as the new league ambassador in the SA20 league. Another ambassador for the league, which continues to grow in stature and popularity, will be Karthik, who will be joining his former RCB teammate, AB de Villiers. Subsequent to his retirement from cricket post IPL 2024, Karthik took up the role of batting mentor for RCB ahead of IPL 2025.

Apart from mentoring, Karthik has been keeping himself busy as a commentator and will now extend his duties to the SA20. As per the league, the officials are excited about the vast knowledge Karthik has regarding cricket; he will work in close conjunction with De Villiers and the management in an attempt to grow the league’s global fan base.

“It is with great pleasure that Betway SA20, South Africa’s premier T20 competition, announces the addition of Dinesh Karthik as a League Ambassador,” the league said in an announcement.

 

“Karthik brings an enormous amount of cricket acumen, having won a World Cup and represented India in the national team, to the League that continues to enjoy its journey as one of the top tier franchise leagues across the world. Karthik will work very closely with fellow Betway SA20 Ambassador AB de Villiers and the management team to help strengthen the League’s global fan base and reinforce brand awareness across key strategic markets in India and the United Kingdom.”

Dinesh Karthik said, “I’m very excited to join the family as an ambassador for Betway SA20. The first two seasons have just been electric—some of the best players in the world on show, along with exciting young talent putting up their hands on the global stage. For me, it is an absolute honor to be associated with the Betway SA20, and I look forward to working with Graeme and his team.”.

Now, the third season of the SA20 league can be scheduled from 9 January to 8 February 2025, and it’s definitely going to be a festival of skill and sportsmanship.
