While playing for the Mysuru Warriors during a Maharaja Trophy T20 2024 match between them and the Bengaluru Blasters on Friday, all eyes turned towards Samit Dravid, son of former India captain Rahul Dravid. Batted in for Mysuru Warriors, against pacer Gneshwar Naveen in the seventh over, he pulled off a muscular six down the ground with elan. Nothing short of an impressive shot, that was a screamer showing the capacity of the young cricketer to work under pressure and an instinctive feel for the big hits.
This joy did not, however, last long as the very next ball dismissed Samit, thus dramatising the end of the innings. The teenager walked back to the pavilion with a seven-run knock off as many balls; his short sojourn at the crease included the one memorable six.

Samit Dravid made his Maharaja Trophy T20 2024 debut on August 15 in a game against Namma Shivamogga. He also scored seven runs in that game, batting at number four and hitting a single boundary. Though in both the games his contributions were pretty modest, some glimpses of his talent have kept hopes alive for his future in the game.

Mysuru Warriors, in their most recent fixture against Bengaluru Blasters, put up an average score of 182 runs for six wickets lost at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Harshil Dharmani emerged crucial once again to make an important contribution with 50 runs and helped his team reach a defendable score. Gneshwar Naveen was on song for Bengaluru Blasters, taking four wickets.

Despite the good effort from Mysuru Warriors, the target of 183 proved inadequate as Bengaluru Blasters chased it down with five balls to spare. Bhuvan Raju turned in a match-winning performance with the bat, making 51 to see his team through with a four-wicket win.
