This was a morning session on Day 2, with Pant, for India B, strolling along the boundary ropes with a teammate. One of them, overcome to praise the dynamic wicketkeeper-batter, yelled out to him, and what happened next was sweet and memorable.
Fan: “Rishabh bhai!” Pant: “Haa bhai?” Excitedly, the fan screamed, “I love you!”-twice. Pant, being his charming and affable self, replied to that with a simple candid “Love you too!” The fan returned, “Love you too!” once more to seal the mutual love moment.

As far as the result of the match is concerned, India ‘B’ won the final session on Day 4 and won it by a certain 76-run win to seal six important points. Pant was highly instrumental in the victory, not only as a batsman himself but also guiding the bowlers around and making much-needed suggestions to captain Abhimanyu Easwaran at various junctures, more so during DRS decisions.

Rishabh Pant’s sharp gloves are in full evidence as he took seven catches-two in the first innings and five in the second innings. Although Pant made a pretty underwhelming start to his innings, managing just seven off 10 balls, he was back in the runs in fairly solid fashion in the second innings.
Batting in his customary aggressive style, Pant slammed a quickfire half-century-61 off 47 deliveries with nine boundaries and two sixes. The highest score in the second innings for India B, this set up India A a target of 275 thus. India B bowlers then put on a fantastic show to fold India A for 198.

While KL Rahul fought valiantly with his 57 off 121 balls, the rest of the batting line-up were found struggling. Yash Dayal was the most successful bowler for India B, returning with figures of 3/50 in his 12 overs. Thursday, September 12 Action begins with the Duleep Trophy 2024 featuring matches between India A vs India D and India B against India C. Both of these are scheduled in Anantapur.
