Veteran India cricketer Piyush Chawla hilariously accused the talented youngster of Chennai Super Kings Sameer Rizvi of age-fudging. He came up with a taunt when he was told that the 20-year-old takes inspiration from Rohit Sharma. Sameer Rizvi is one of the most exciting young talents in Indian cricket. He made a huge name for himself in domestic cricket because of his power-hitting ability and has played some of the finest innings for his team as well.

Sameer Rizvi, 20y 281d, was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League for a huge price. The young batter left a mark in the league for the team in the limited opportunities that he got. He mostly batted down the order and hit big sixes for his team, impressing many as well. Sameer Rizvi then did well in the Uttar Pradesh Premier League. Playing for Kanpur Superstars, he was among the top run-getters in the tournament with over 250 runs to his name as well.

However, Sameer Rizvi recently attended the podcast of Shubhankar Mishra, and he said that India captain Rohit Sharma is his inspiration. Mishra, in a podcast with the veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, told him about the batter’s inspiration. However, as he mentioned his age, Piyush Chawla came up with a cheeky reply, hilariously accusing him of age fudging.

However, Piyush Chawla also applauded India captain Rohit Sharma, saying that the opening batter is a bowler’s captain. He also highlighted how he led from the front in the ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024. Chawla also praised Rohit Sharma as a great leader and mentioned that he has played a lot of cricket with him, and they both share a good bond.

“Look, if I talk about Rohit when the World Cup was going on. When I was doing commentary, I also said that there is a captain, there is a leader. Rohit Sharma is not a captain, he’s a leader. He set the example. If you see, whether it’s the 2023 50-over World Cup.Whether it’s the T20 World Cup. The way Rohit used to bat, he used to set such a tone on top that things used to be a little easier for the coming people. So Rohit Sharma is a bowler’s captain. But he’s a true leader. He gives you a free hand. And I’ve played so much cricket with him. So I have a little comfort level. It’s not like we’re just meeting on the ground,” he concluded.
