Virat Kohli was left in utter disbelief when a crucial decision went against Team India during the second Test against Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The incident unfolded in the 34th over of Bangladesh’s first innings when Indian pacer Akash Deep bowled to Mominul Haque. Earlier in the match, Akash Deep had given India a strong start by dismissing opener Zakir Hasan for a duck and then sending back the other opener, Shadman Islam, for 24 runs, reducing Bangladesh to a precarious 29 for 2.

In the 34th over, Akash Deep bowled a full delivery targeting Mominul’s pads. The left-hander attempted a flick shot but missed, and the ball thudded into his pad. The Indian players immediately appealed for an LBW, but the on-field umpire was unmoved and ruled in favor of the batsman. After a brief consultation with his teammates, including a visibly animated Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma opted for a review.

The entire Indian team watched the giant screen with bated breath as the third umpire went through the replay. UltraEdge confirmed there was no bat involved, and the flat line on the screen momentarily lifted the spirits of the Indian players.

However, their hopes were dashed when the ball-tracking technology revealed that the ball had pitched just outside the leg stump. Kohli, who was following the review intently, looked stunned, his expression conveying sheer disbelief as he had not anticipated this outcome.

As for the match itself, Bangladesh were at 107/3 after 35 overs at the time of writing, with the day’s play already disrupted by rain. Both teams are now hoping for better weather conditions over the next four days to ensure a result.
