Indian domestic cricketer Musheer Khan, brother of Sarfaraz Khan, recently faced a severe car accident while en route to join Mumbai’s squad for the Irani Cup. Musheer was travelling from Azamgarh to Lucknow with his father when their vehicle collided with a divider and overturned several times. The accident resulted in Musheer sustaining a neck fracture, forcing him to take an extended break from cricket.
The young cricketer shared an update about his condition for the first time since the accident, expressing gratitude to those who supported him during this challenging time.
“First of all, I would like to thank Allah for this new life. I am fine now. My father was with me; he is also fine. I would like to thank you all for your prayers,” Musheer Khan said in a video posted on Instagram. He was seen wearing a neck brace in the video, visibly recovering from the injuries.

Musheer’s father, Naushad Khan, also expressed his gratitude to well-wishers, friends, and relatives who offered their prayers and support. “Good evening, first of all, I would like to thank the Almighty for this new life. I would also like to thank all those people who have prayed for us,” Naushad said in the video.

Musheer Khan had been in great form, recently impressing in the Duleep Trophy, where he scored 181 runs. He was also set to be part of India A’s squad for the upcoming tour to Australia, but his injuries have sidelined him for now. He is currently being treated at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow, and after his discharge, further evaluations will be conducted in Mumbai to determine the next steps in his recovery.

As for his replacement in the Mumbai squad for the Irani Cup, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is yet to announce a decision. Musheer’s absence is a significant blow to Mumbai’s plans, but the cricketing community hopes for his swift recovery.
