Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history in the ongoing one-off U-19 Test match between India and Australia, scoring an astonishing century off just 58 balls at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Day 2. At just 13 years old, he became the fastest centurion for India in U-19 Test history, missing the overall record for the fastest century in U-19 Tests by a narrow margin.
That record is held by Moeen Ali, who achieved a 56-ball century in 2005. On October 1, during the first session, Suryavanshi showcased his batting prowess with a spectacular innings that included 14 fours and four sixes. However, he was dismissed shortly after reaching his century, run out for a remarkable 104 runs off just 62 balls, finishing with an incredible strike rate of 167.74.
