India’s skipper Rohit Sharma has experienced his fair share of highs and lows over the past few years. From the disappointment of losing the World Test Championship Final in 2023 and the ODI World Cup Final the same year, Rohit bounced back by leading Team India to their second-ever T20 World Cup title in Barbados in 2024.

Speaking passionately in his native language, Rohit admitted that winning the T20 World Cup had a profound impact on him. “Our big goal was to win the World Cup; after winning it, my life has truly come to life,” he expressed.

On the cricket front, India is currently in action against Bangladesh. After sweeping the visitors 2-0 in a Test series with victories in Chennai and Kanpur, India is now gearing up for a three-match T20I series against the same opponents.

The matches are scheduled for October 6 in Gwalior, October 9 in Delhi, and October 12 in Hyderabad.  As the reigning T20 World Cup champions, India will be eager to maintain their momentum and start the series strong.

Meanwhile, despite coming into the Test series on a high after a historic victory against Pakistan, Bangladesh struggled to carry that form into their games against India. The loss hurt their morale and saw them slip in the World Test Championship standings. With a chance to redeem themselves in the T20 series, Bangladesh will be looking to topple the world champions and restore some pride.
