Head coach of Team India Gautam Gambhir is ready to reach Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday, October 4. Ahead of the first T20I match on the newly built Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, Gambhir took a spiritual detour and visited the Maa Pitambara Temple in Datia as a prayer service. It is about 70 kilometres from Gwalior and thousands of devotees, mostly during Navratri, throng the place.

Gautam Gambhir’s visit has been a momentous peaceful reflection ahead of the intense cricket series. In a video that has become widely circulated on social media, Gambhir was seen donning the traditional Indian dress – the kurta yellow and a white dhoti. The 43-year-old former cricketer is likely to visit the temple and be a part of the squad in Gwalior soon.

The Indian team along with the remainder of the coaching staff have already started pouring into the city where they are training rigorously at the nets on Thursday evening as they prepare for this much-talked-about fixture. After a high-octane performance in the Test series, which India won comprehensively 2-0 against Bangladesh, the side gears up for the shorter version.

Gautam Gambhir will also join the players with the intent of continuing his momentum of winning matches in Test series. The first T20I was played at Gwalior and thereafter the teams will shift their base to New Delhi to play the second, before culminating it with the third one at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

India has announced a big ensemble, which appears formidable, for the series. They have appointed Suryakumar Yadav as skipper and Hardik Pandya as vice-captain.

Promising young pacers Mayank Yadav and Harshit Rana might get an opportunity to make their debut as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are rested. Nitish Kumar Reddy too is exciting, but his inclusion in the Playing XI seems difficult with Hardik, Shivam Dube, and Washington Sundar already doing duty for the team.
