Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently showcased his sporting spirit by trying his hand at cricket during the inauguration of the 36th All India Advocate Cricket Tournament in Lucknow. With a smile, CM Yogi stepped up to the crease and attempted a graceful straight drive, making solid contact with the ball, much to the delight of those present.
His participation reflected his support for the country’s growing emphasis on fitness and sports. CM Yogi took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts on the positive trend of sports and fitness gaining popularity nationwide. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting sports through initiatives like ‘Khelo India’ and the ‘Fit India Movement’.

“In the last 10 years, under the guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, sports activities have expanded in the country. ‘Khelo India’, ‘Fit India Movement’, and ‘MP Sports Competition’ are proof of this,” he wrote, while also extending his best wishes to the participating teams.

Cricket was just one part of CM Yogi’s busy day. Earlier, he unveiled the official logo for Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. During his visit, he carefully reviewed the preparations for the religious gathering, met with saints, and performed puja.

The Maha Kumbh, set to take place between January 14 and February 26, 2025, promises to be a grand affair. CM Yogi announced that the event space would be more than double the size of the 2013 edition, with projects worth over INR 5,600 crore aimed at transforming Prayagraj into a stunning, well-equipped site. The ambitious goal is to complete all preparations by December 15, 2024.
