India captain Suryakumar Yadav had a close call during the third T20I against Bangladesh on Saturday (October 12) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. A beamer from Taskin Ahmed almost caused a serious injury, but Suryakumar’s quick reflexes saved the day. The incident occurred in the 12th over when Taskin delivered a high full-toss that was headed straight toward the Indian skipper’s face.
Luckily, Suryakumar managed to duck just in time, avoiding what could have been a painful blow. The ball sailed past him and the wicketkeeper, Litton Das, for four runs.
Taskin was quick to apologize for the dangerous delivery, and the umpire rightfully called it a no-ball. Adding insult to injury for Bangladesh, Suryakumar smashed the subsequent free-hit for a massive six, continuing India’s batting onslaught.

In the match, India made history by posting their highest-ever T20I total, finishing with a mammoth 297/6. This score also made them only the second team after Nepal to surpass 280 runs in T20I cricket. India’s previous highest T20I total was 260/5 against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Sanju Samson was the star of the innings, scoring a breathtaking 111 off just 47 balls. He reached his fifty in a mere 22 balls and completed his century in just 40 deliveries. Samson’s innings included 11 fours and 8 sixes, five of which came consecutively. Suryakumar Yadav also led by example, contributing a crucial 75 off 35 balls. Meanwhile, all-rounder Hardik Pandya provided fireworks with a quickfire 47 off just 18 balls.

Bangladesh’s bowling attack had no answers, with no bowler managing to maintain an economy rate below 11. Rishad Hossain was particularly expensive, conceding 46 runs in just two overs. At the time of this report, Bangladesh had just begun their chase, sitting at 11 for 1 after two overs.
