Not only do cricketers take it seriously in India but it is the fans who invest their time and energy as well. Moreover, not only gods that people go around idolizing but some of the high-profile cricketers are worshipped too. A recent example of the same was witnessed post Day 4 of the first Test between India and New Zealand, which was being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
A fan, who had cycled his way especially from Lucknow to Bengaluru to catch a glimpse of ace Indian batter Virat Kohli, told the story of how he and his friends had planned this adventure. Talking about his own preparations, Vinay Kumar said, “I set up the Indian tricolour at the back of my seat and wore a white jacket with Kohli’s pictures on it besides a banner that had a collage of Kohli.”.

Looking a bit dejected at not getting the chance to meet Kohli after going even to the extent of making his way to the team hotel, he shared that when he had been trying to meet Kohli. He also shared how he failed in his attempt to pass time with the Indian superstar when he had covered Lucknow to Kohli’s residence in Mumbai on foot.

“My name is Vinay Kumar and I have come from Lucknow on a cycle. I have come to meet Virat sir from Lucknow to Bengaluru. I had left from Lucknow on 29th August sir, 29th August, 2024. I haven’t been able to meet him till now. I had gone to the hotel today, but was unsuccessful in meeting Kohli there,” revealed Vinay Kumar in an exclusive interview with SportsInfo, a product of CricTracker.

“I have been trying to meet Kohli since a long time now. It’s been around eight months now. I had travelled from Lucknow to Mumbai by foot to Kohli’s residence, but was not able to meet him,” added the fan.
He also said in the same video that the next expedition he has planned is to visit Pune in the same manner.
