India and Australia are gearing up for another intense Border-Gavaskar Trophy showdown, with the first Test set to begin in Perth on November 22. The highly anticipated five-match series promises plenty of thrilling match-ups, but one in particular has caught the attention of fans—the battle between India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and the Australian team.

Pant was a key player in India’s memorable 2020-21 series victory in Australia, where his aggressive batting style proved to be a major challenge for the home side. His match-winning knock at the Gabba is still fresh in the minds of cricket enthusiasts, and the Australian team is expected to have special plans in place to try and neutralize Pant’s impact this time around.

As the series approaches, all eyes will be on how Rishabh Pant fares against the Australian bowling attack, especially with players like Pat Cummins leading the charge. Pant isn’t just known for his explosive batting, though—he’s also famous for his on-field banter. During the 2020-21 series, he was often heard chirping from behind the stumps, trying to get under the skin of Australian batters.

In a recent interview, Pat Cummins, who was at the receiving end of some of Pant’s playful sledging, laughed while recalling an incident where Pant encouraged him to hit a six. The Australian skipper couldn’t help but chuckle, showing there’s mutual respect and humor despite the fierce competition.

Looking ahead to the upcoming series, Cummins acknowledged India’s recent dominance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but emphasized that his team takes great pride in performing on home soil. “We haven’t had much luck against India in the last few series, but we always aim to play our best here in Australia,” Pat Cummins shared during an interview with Star Sports.
