IPL 2025 Mega Auction Set For Jeddah: 1,574 Players Register For Historic Event

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has officially unveiled details of the eagerly awaited mega auction for its 18th season. In an exciting announcement, the league confirmed that the auction will take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This year, the player pool is impressive, with 1,574 registrations closed as of November 4, 2024. Among these, there are 1,165 Indian players and 409 overseas participants vying for slots in the cash-rich league.

The player pool breakdown is as follows:

  • Capped Players: 320
  • Uncapped Players: 1,224
  • Players from Associate Nations: 30

Within the 320 capped players, 48 are Indian, while the remaining 272 are overseas. For the uncapped category, Indians with prior IPL experience number 152, along with 3 international players who have also previously featured in the league. Additionally, 104 uncapped international players have registered, alongside 965 uncapped Indian hopefuls.

BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah corroborated the press release, which also notes that 204 slots will be available, adhering to the maximum limit of 25 players per franchise. This setup promises an exciting reshuffle of talent, with franchises set to bid vigorously for key players to finalize their line-ups.
