Mohammad Rizwan once again showcased his knack for light-hearted moments during the first innings of the second ODI between Pakistan and Australia, delivering another dose of cricketing comedy. The funny incident occurred when Rizwan asked Adam Zampa whether he should challenge the on-field decision upstairs after a delivery from Naseem Shah.
In the 34th over, with Australia at a precarious 153/9, Zampa was focused on getting whatever runs he could. Naseem bowled a short delivery, and Zampa attempted to hook it but missed. The ball seemed to pass very close to his gloves on its way to Rizwan, who immediately went up for a caught-behind appeal.

As Mohammad Rizwan made his way towards Naseem and the others, he humorously asked Adam Zampa, “You heard something?” to which Zampa responded, “You seem to appeal for everything!” Rizwan, with a smile, then asked, “Can I take it now?” Zampa playfully agreed, saying, “Oh yeah, you should, you should take it.”

The light-hearted moment was one of the few amusing instances during a dominating spell by Pakistan’s Haris Rauf. The right-arm quick delivered a sensational performance, claiming his second five-wicket haul in ODIs. Rauf’s fiery deliveries left the entire Australian batting lineup struggling to cope.

Mohamad Rizwan was particularly involved, taking four catches off Rauf’s bowling. The fifth wicket fell to Rauf when he dismissed Pat Cummins, and Rizwan’s efforts saw him match Sarfaraz Ahmed’s record of six catches in an ODI, making him Pakistan’s joint-record holder for the most catches in a single 50-over match.
