Without a moment’s hesitation, the Karnataka batter named his former captain and teammate, Virat Kohli. The response was met with delight by fans of the duo, who have followed their camaraderie over the years.
Rahul and Kohli are in Australia, preparing for the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Ahead of what promises to be an intense contest between two cricketing giants, the BCCI took a light-hearted approach to relieve the pressure by engaging players in a fun Q&A session. When asked, “Who is the most famous person in your contact list?” KL Rahul confidently replied, “Virat Kohli,” bringing a smile to everyone’s faces.

During the same session, Mohammed Siraj turned the spotlight on Virat Kohli, asking him to name his favourite innings on Australian soil. Kohli chose his iconic century during the Perth Test in the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In that match, while others faltered under the relentless pressure of the Australian bowlers, Kohli’s masterful knock stood out. Although India lost the match by 146 runs, his brilliance was widely lauded.
