Earlier, Delhi Capitals exited the bidding war as Royal Challengers Bangalore pushed it to 10.75 crores. Rajasthan Royals then joined at 11 crores, while Gujarat Titans stayed firm as bids soared past 12.5 crores. Sunrisers Hyderabad unexpectedly escalated the competition, taking the bid to 13.75 crores before securing their final stake. The intense auction kept fans and franchises on edge.

The bidding war for Shreyas Iyer saw Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals fiercely competing for the star batter. Iyer, a former IPL-winning captain, made history with a record-breaking bid of INR 26.75 crores, securing his move to the Punjab Kings.

The auction began with Kolkata Knight Riders entering the fray for their former title-winning skipper from 2024. However, Punjab Kings quickly joined the hunt, challenging KKR’s interest. As Kolkata stepped back, Delhi Capitals intensified the battle, driving the bids past 15 crores. Ultimately, Punjab Kings triumphed, making Iyer the most expensive player in IPL history.

Yuzvendra Chahal entered the auction spotlight with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) kicking off the bidding war. Eventually, Punjab Kings secured Maxwell’s services for ₹4.2 crore, adding a proven match-winner to their lineup.
