The third Test of the ongoing five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between India and Australia began on Saturday (December 14) at The Gabba in Brisbane. Unfortunately, the first day was severely affected by rain, allowing only 13.2 overs of play. Rain disrupted the first session twice and completely washed out the remaining two.
Despite the lack of action on the field, the rain delay brought lighter moments off it, featuring a playful exchange between Virat Kohli and former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, who is part of the commentary team for the series. In a video shared by Star Sports on X, Harbhajan revealed Kohli teased him about his outfit, comparing it to legendary Bollywood actor Jeetendra’s iconic style.
Harbhajan Singh, wearing a light pink and white jacket, said Kohli humorously pointed out the resemblance to Jeetendra’s all-white attire from the classic movie Himmatwala.

Virat said, ‘Aithe Jeetendra aagya aa’ (Has Jeetendra come here?) and began humming Naino Mein Sapna while mimicking Jeetendra’s dance moves. At first, I didn’t get it, but then he came closer to show the full dance. I joked that I shouldn’t have worn this outfit. If I had white leather boots too, I’d look exactly like Jeetu ji!” Harbhajan said, adding to the laughter.

On the second day, Virat Kohli made his mark on the field as well. He took two crucial catches in the morning session to bolster India’s bowling effort. Kohli first dismissed Nathan McSweeney in the second slip off Jasprit Bumrah’s delivery in the 19th over. Later, he caught Marnus Labuschagne in the same position in the 34th over, this time off Nitish Kumar Reddy.

While McSweeney managed just nine runs off 49 balls, Labuschagne’s 55-ball stay yielded 12 runs without a boundary. His partnership of 37 runs with Steve Smith offered brief resistance but failed to shift momentum. Kohli’s athletic fielding was a bright spot for India, adding to his reputation as a livewire on the field.
