The Indian cricket team is firmly in control as they continue their dominance on Day 5 of the third Test at The Gabba in Brisbane. The bowlers have maintained relentless pressure on the Australian batting lineup, making significant inroads after Jasprit Bumrah’s excellent start to the day. The team looks determined to bowl Australia out quickly and set the stage for a memorable finish.
While Bumrah’s fiery opening spell set the tone, Mohammed Siraj once again showcased his knack for delivering in crucial moments. Siraj, a standout performer for India in this series, struck a major blow by dismissing Steve Smith early in the day for just four runs off five balls.
Adding to his impressive performance, Siraj claimed another prized wicket, this time removing Travis Head, to further tighten India’s grip on the game. Travis Head’s dismissal was a turning point in the session, as he fell victim to a mistimed shot off Siraj’s clever bowling. The Indian pacer bowled a short ball that was angled across the left-hander, tempting Head into an ambitious swipe over mid-wicket.

However, playing against the angle proved costly for the Australian batter, as he ended up getting a thick top edge. The ball soared high towards the gully, and Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant called for the catch. Sprinting across with confidence, Pant completed the catch safely, sending Head back to the pavilion for 17 runs off 19 balls, which included two boundaries.

Siraj’s ability to deliver under pressure has been a significant factor in India’s strong position in the match. His dismissal of Travis Head further exemplified the teamwork and discipline displayed by the Indian bowlers throughout the series. With the Australian batting lineup reeling under consistent pressure, India appears well on course to wrap up the innings and push for a favourable result in the Gabba Test.
