Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah has dismissed recent reports suggesting he has been advised bed rest following a back injury sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Taking to social media, Bumrah labelled the claims as “fake news” and found humour in the rumours. “I know fake news is easy to spread, but this made me laugh. Sources unreliable,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter), putting to rest concerns about his recovery and availability for upcoming tournaments.
Bumrah’s injury occurred during the Sydney Test against Australia, forcing him off the field mid-game. Initial reports suggested swelling in his back, with sources claiming he needed rest until the swelling subsided. This sparked speculation about his readiness for the ICC Champions Trophy, which is set to begin next month. However, Bumrah’s confident response has rekindled optimism about his recovery.
