Former England batter Kevin Pietersen has expressed interest in becoming the batting coach of the Indian senior men’s cricket team in response to growing speculation on social media. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly considering adding a dedicated batting coach to the team’s support staff, following the recent appointment of Gautam Gambhir as head coach.
Pietersen, who has transitioned into a career as a commentator since retiring in 2018, responded to a post on X about India’s search for a batting coach by simply stating, “Interested.”
The BCCI is reportedly re-evaluating its coaching setup after India’s defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, prompting a review of the current support staff. The board has been mulling the idea of appointing a batting coach to strengthen the team’s batting performance.
