An intriguing moment unfolded between Gujarat Titans’ star spinner Rashid Khan and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) power hitter Nicholas Pooran during the 26th match of IPL 2025 on April 12 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Pooran, who has been in stellar form throughout the season, continued his blistering run with the bat against the Gujarat Titans.

Coming in after Rishabh Pant’s dismissal in the 7th over, Pooran wasted no time and began his usual aggressive style of batting. He took the Gujarat Titans’ bowlers to task, racing to a half-century in just 23 balls. His innings featured one boundary and six massive sixes, showcasing his raw power and incredible timing.

Alongside Aiden Markram and Ayush Badoni, Pooran built important partnerships, which helped his team secure the win. However, despite his fiery innings, Pooran couldn’t finish the job and was dismissed by Rashid Khan in the 16th over.
On the second ball of the over, Rashid Khan bowled a length delivery, angled across Pooran, who attempted to clear the ground but failed to get proper contact, resulting in a catch for Shahrukh Khan. After taking the wicket, Rashid Khan shared a lighthearted moment with Pooran.

Speaking ahead of the match, the star leg-spinner Rashid talked about the importance of hunger in sports, as he said, “You know, definitely hunger is very important. You know, in sports, wherever you are, you should have that. If you don’t have that hunger, then it’s difficult to perform there because the result comes at the end. If it comes at the end, then why think about it first? First, think about the thing that we start with. If you don’t have that hunger, then it’s difficult to perform there,” Rashid Khan said as quoted by ANI.
