Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 68 of IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 25. Both teams find themselves in similar territory on the points table with five wins from 13 matches each. KKR, however, sit one spot above SRH due to a slightly better net run rate, making this a must-win contest for both sides.

SRH entered the game with confidence after a commanding 47-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, driven by Ishan Kishan’s explosive 94. KKR, on the other hand, had their last outing against the same opponent washed out due to rain, missing out on crucial points in the playoff race.

The Knight Riders hold a dominant record in this rivalry, having won 20 of their 29 encounters against SRH. They’ve also won six of the last eight clashes, including the IPL 2024 final.

The Arun Jaitley Stadium has been a paradise for batters this season, with short boundaries and dry pitches aiding strokeplay. While spinners have found occasional help, high-scoring games have been the norm. With warm, humid conditions expected again, fans can brace for another run-fest.

After a quiet start to IPL 2025, Pat Cummins has hit top gear in recent weeks. The Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper has claimed 12 wickets in his last seven outings, maintaining a tight economy of 7.37. With SRH facing the only team yet to register a 50+ opening stand this season, Cummins will be eyeing early breakthroughs to set the tone.

Probable XII: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan(wk), Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Reddy, Abhinav Manohar, Aniket Verma, Pat Cummins(c), Harsh Dubey, Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga.

In terms of squad availability, SRH will be without Rovman Powell and Moeen Ali, both of whom opted out of returning to India after the league resumed. Shivam Shukla has been brought in as a replacement for Powell.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders’ spin duo—Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine—have been outstanding away from Eden Gardens. The pair has combined for 16 wickets in five away games, with an impressive economy of 6.03. SRH’s ability to counter this threat could well decide the outcome, especially after their recent dominance over RCB’s spinners.

Probable XII: Rahmanullah Gurbaz(wk), Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane(c), Venkatesh Iyer, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Ramandeep Singh, Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakaravarthy, Anrich Nortje/Spencer Johnson
