The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is about to commence later this week. The most opulent cricket league in the world will enter into its 11th edition and will present different opportunities to different players. Amongst these players will be some batsmen who have gone out of recognition since the last year or so. They would be citing IPL as a platform to stand tall on their reputation yet again. These batsmen are:

5. Ambati Rayudu (Chennai Super Kings) – It amazes many people to see how this 32-year old middle-order batsman has fallen off the radar as far as the Indian team is concerned. An ODI average of 50.23 in 34 ODIs followed by not playing for India since the last two (almost) years. Apart from being axed from the national team, Rayudu was made to warm the Mumbai Indians’ bench in the last year of the IPL. In IPL 10, he played five matches, scoring 91 runs at an average of 18.20 and a strike rate of 116.66. Since his IPL debut in 2010, last year was the first time when Rayudu has played matches in single digits.

Rayudu will play for Super Kings in this season.
