Star Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has showered high praise on India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, calling him the best in the world and rating him a perfect 10 out of 10. “He’s the best bowler in the world right now,” Shaheen Afridi said. “Swing, accuracy, experience — he has it all. That’s why I gave him 10 out of 10.”

Since making his international debut back in 2016 at the SCG, Bumrah has emerged as one of the most complete fast bowlers across formats. From red-ball heroics to white-ball magic, the 31-year-old has proven time and again why he’s India’s pace spearhead.

Bumrah’s 2024 was particularly sensational. He was instrumental in India’s T20 World Cup triumph, claiming 15 wickets in 8 matches, and was rightfully named Player of the Series. His dominance continued in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25, where he claimed a staggering 32 wickets in five Tests against Australia.

These performances earned him the ICC Cricketer of the Year and ICC Test Cricketer of the Year awards, making it a year to remember. Though he missed the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a lower back injury, Bumrah made his return through IPL 2025 before stepping back into the red-ball arena in the first Test of the ongoing England series at Headingley.

He made an immediate impact, picking up 5 for 83, and became the first Asian pacer to take 150 wickets in SENA countries. He also matched Kapil Dev’s record for most five-wicket hauls by an Indian pacer in overseas Tests. After being rested for the second Test, Bumrah is set to return for the third Test at Lord’s from July 10–14.
