India’s fourth day at Lord’s belonged to their bowlers — particularly Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah — who delivered with precision and purpose to put England on the back foot in the third Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar turned up the heat with a masterful spell, removing key English batters just when the hosts looked to stabilise.

First, he dismissed Joe Root, the backbone of England’s batting lineup, with a delivery that drifted and dipped beautifully. Then came Jamie Smith, the most consistent English batter in the series so far. Sundar’s guile proved too much, and the young Englishman fell victim to the spinner’s control and subtle turn.

But Sundar saved his best for Ben Stokes. Bowling from around the wicket, he tossed up a full-length delivery that drifted in and tempted the England skipper into a sweep. Stokes misjudged it entirely. The ball snuck underneath the bat and crashed into the stumps. Out for 33 — the same score he’d registered in the second innings of both the Headingley and Edgbaston Tests. A bizarre but telling pattern.
Big name wipeout, powered by Washington Sundar 💪

Just when England looked for some resistance, Jasprit Bumrah followed up with a searing yorker that left Brydon Carse stunned. The very next over after Stokes’ dismissal, Bumrah produced a classic toe-crusher at serious pace. Carse had no chance — he was late bringing his bat down, and the stumps went flying. Gone for just 1.

Between Sundar’s spin masterclass and Bumrah’s sheer speed and precision, England were left reeling. India had tightened their grip on the Test by the end of the first session on Day 4, with momentum firmly in their corner at the iconic Lord’s.
