Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has picked former India captain Virat Kohli and veteran pace bowler Ashish Nehra among the funniest cricketers from two different generations as well. He also stated that he shared a great camaraderie with Kohli on and off the field as well.

During a candid chat with R Ashwin, the veteran also revealed on R Ashwin’s YouTube channel, Kutti Stories, “Funniest cricketer. There is more than one. Ashish Nehra was one. In the new gen, Virat Kohli. I have spent a lot of time with him. I find him to be too funny. He is very funny. He always had a lighter mood around me. Around us, we had the Punjabi vibe altogether. He was around all of us, going, “Paaji, paaji.” Shikhar Dhawan is too funny. He is extra funny. I bring back the one-ball rule in ODI cricket, and having 5 fielders outside the circle after 10 overs, and not 15 overs.”
Harbhajan Singh also used one word for legendary batters Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid as well. He also picked
former India captain Anil Kumble as his mentor.
He said: “One word for players – Sachin Tendulkar – God of Cricket, Virender Sehwag – Don of Cricket, Rahul Dravid- Saint of Cricket, Yuvraj Singh – Flamboyant, MS Dhoni – Captain, Dada – Leader, Anil Kumble – Mentor, Ashwin – Philosopher. My biopic should be named ‘Dil se,’ and the actor would be Vicky Kaushal.”

However, Harbhajan Singh has candidly said that he always felt the legendary Bishan Singh Bedi was not too fond of his bowling style as well. According to him, the late Bedi was someone who wanted spinners to flight the ball traditionally, something which he did not do a lot as well.
“Honestly, I didn’t have a lot of interactions with him. For some reason, I thought he didn’t like me a lot. Of course, it could just be my thought. But yeah, I am his huge admirer. I have immense respect for him, and I always sought his blessings whenever I met him. But, I’ve always felt that he wasn’t really happy with my bowling. My bowling didn’t have the flight that he thought was needed,” he shared.
“There was pace, but I didn’t think you needed flight to get the batsman out every time. It is where you are pitching it and how you are making him play is what matters. That is my opinion and I am not saying it is absolutely right… It depends on the batter too. If we are giving him time, if he stepping out, then you have to vary. As spinners, we know how to make the batsman play,” Harbhajan Singh concluded.
