Former South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock has named only one Indian cricketer in his all-time left-handers’ XI, and it’s none other than Ravindra Jadeja. Despite India producing several exceptional left-handed players over the years, such as Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, and Irfan Pathan, de Kock chose Jadeja for his unique all-round skills.

Ravindra Jadeja’s consistency with both bat and ball earned him a place, reflecting his contributions to Indian cricket across formats. Quinton de Kock’s XI features three Australians, two Pakistanis, and four Sri Lankans. However, some notable names like Mitchell Starc and Adam Gilchrist were left out.

Mitchell Starc, with 402 Test wickets and over 300 combined wickets in ODIs and T20Is, has been a mainstay for Australia. Meanwhile, Gilchrist, renowned for his aggressive batting and 5570 runs in Tests, was also omitted from Quinton de Kock’s list.

The 32-year-old South African cricketer, who played 54 Tests, 155 ODIs, and 92 T20Is, included himself and Australian legend Matthew Hayden as openers. Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya occupied the third spot, followed by wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara and Australian middle-order dynamo Mike Hussey.

For the bowling unit, Quinton de Kock picked Chaminda Vaas, Wasim Akram, Mohammad Amir, and Mitchell Starc, with Jadeja and Rangana Herath as the spinners. Herath, a stalwart for Sri Lanka with 433 Test wickets, 74 in ODIs, and 18 in T20Is, paired well with Jadeja, who has 330 Test wickets and over 3800 runs. Jadeja’s versatility was evident in ODIs, where he has taken 231 wickets and scored 2806 runs in 204 matches.

Yuvraj Singh, another notable left-hander, was a key player in India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup wins. With 1900 runs in Tests and 8701 runs in ODIs, Yuvraj also contributed with the ball, taking 148 wickets across formats. This left-handed XI showcases a balanced mix of batters and bowlers, featuring some of the best to have ever graced the game.
