Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has also backed Samson, calling him a key figure in India’s T20I setup. Gavaskar suggested that the Kerala batter could be utilised at No. 3 or as a lower-order powerhouse while also taking on wicketkeeping responsibilities ahead of Jitesh Sharma.
