Ravichandran Ashwin To Play For India At Hong Kong Sixes 2025 After Retirement

Legendary Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who retired from international cricket in December 2024 and bid farewell to the IPL in August 2025, is set to make a special return to the field. Ashwin will represent Team India at the 2025 edition of the Hong Kong Sixes, scheduled from November 7 to 9. The confirmation came on September 18 when Hong Kong Cricket announced the news via Instagram.

Ashwin’s career statistics reflect his greatness. Between 2010 and 2024, he played 106 Tests, 116 ODIs, and 65 T20Is for India, claiming 537 wickets in Tests, 156 in ODIs, and 72 in T20Is. With the bat, he added depth to the order, scoring 3,503 runs in Tests and 707 runs in ODIs. His all-round brilliance made him one of India’s most reliable match-winners across formats.

Ashwin’s most recent outing came in the IPL 2025, where he turned out for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals in New Delhi. In that match, played on May 20, he took two wickets for 41 runs in four overs. His farewell to the IPL was marked by his intent to explore global leagues.

In the 2024 edition of Hong Kong Sixes, India was led by Robin Uthappa with teammates including Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwary, Stuart Binny, Shahbaz Nadeem, Shreevats Goswami, and Bharat Chipli. Ashwin’s inclusion this year brings a higher profile to India’s squad.
