Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya delivered a moment of brilliance in India’s final Asia Cup 2025 group-stage clash against Oman in Abu Dhabi. Just seconds after chatting with a support staff member on the boundary line, Pandya pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss a well-set Aamir Kaleem, who was batting on 64 and threatening to push Oman closer to a major upset.

The dramatic moment came in the 18th over when Kaleem flicked Harshit Rana over fine leg. What looked like a certain six was cut short by Pandya’s sharp anticipation and safe hands, shifting the game back in India’s control. The catch quickly went viral, with unseen angles circulating on social media, highlighting Pandya’s incredible reflexes.

Pandya wasn’t done yet. He bowled the crucial penultimate over, conceding just six runs while removing Hammad Mirza for 51, effectively sealing Oman’s chase. Earlier, though, Pandya’s batting luck deserted him. Looking for time in the middle, he was run out cheaply by his former Baroda teammate Jiten Ramanandi, adding another unlucky dismissal to his career. Vice-captain Shubman Gill also endured a tough outing, scoring only 5 off 8 balls.

With India setting a strong total of 189, skipper Suryakumar Yadav rotated as many as eight bowlers to test combinations. Debutants Harshit Rana (1/25) and Arshdeep Singh (1/37) looked slightly rusty but showed promise. Arshdeep, however, marked history by claiming his 100th T20I wicket, becoming the first Indian bowler to achieve the milestone.

Kuldeep Yadav once again impressed with 1/23 in three overs. For Oman, captain Jatinder Singh (32), Kaleem (64), and Mirza (51) showed admirable fight, but India’s all-round depth proved too strong as they marched into the Super Four with another clinical performance.
