In a record-breaking chase at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, India A scripted history by successfully chasing 412 runs to win the second unofficial Test against Australia A on the final day. Openers KL Rahul and B Sai Sudharsan played starring roles, both striking centuries and setting the tone for an extraordinary finish.

Rahul, who had retired hurt on 74 the previous day as a precaution, returned to the crease after nightwatchman Manav Suthar was dismissed early on Day 4. The 33-year-old went on to complete his 22nd first-class century, guiding India A through a challenging chase with his trademark calm and authority.
Sai Sudharsan followed soon after, scoring 100 off 172 balls, featuring nine boundaries and a six, marking the eighth century of his first-class career. Earlier in the match, Australia A had posted 420 in their first innings, with contributions from Sam Konstas (49), Nathan McSweeney (half-century), and others.

India A struggled in response, bowled out for 185, giving Australia a massive 235-run first-innings lead. Sudharsan’s fighting 75 had been the only bright spot for India A in that innings. Australia A then collapsed for just 185 in their second innings, thanks to Gurnoor Brar and Manav Suthar picking up three wickets each, leaving India A with a challenging 412-run target.

Chasing 412, Rahul and opener Narayan Jagadeesan laid a solid foundation with an 82-run partnership. Despite Rahul briefly retiring hurt, he returned to form a crucial 78-run partnership with Sudharsan for the fourth wicket.
After Sudharsan’s dismissal, KL Rahul joined hands with Dhruv Jurel to add 115 runs, followed by an unbroken 31-run stand with Nitish Kumar Reddy to take India past the line. Jurel’s half-century further cemented the chase as one of the highest successful fourth-innings chases in A-Test history.
