India and Delhi Daredevils batsman, Rishabh Pant, injured his thumb during the match against Gujarat Lions in Kanpur. On the first ball of the last over, James Faulkner played a Pat Cummins delivery to the mid-wicket area.
Ravindra Jadeja came in between the ball and the wicket-keeper, Pant. Resultant of which, Pant wasn’t able to collect the ball properly. The batsman ran an overthrow. But that was not the only loss for the Daredevils. Pant had to walk out due to the injury. Sanju Samson fulfilled the duties behind the stumps in his absence.
Luckily for Pant and Daredevils, the injury was nothing serious. Pant returned to the ground in the second innings after the fall of Sanju Samson. Pant was however run-out on 4 by a shrewd Suresh Raina.
