The upcoming Australia vs India white-ball series is already shaping up to be one of the biggest cricketing spectacles of 2025, with Cricket Australia (CA) confirming that public tickets for the T20I clash at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on October 31 have entirely sold out — more than three weeks before the match. This remarkable response underlines the unmatched popularity of the India-Australia rivalry, both on and off the field.

Australia will host India for a three-match ODI and five-match T20I series from October 19 to November 8, 2025, and the buzz around it has been electric ever since the schedule was announced. Cricket fans, especially the massive Indian diaspora in Australia, have snapped up tickets at record pace, reminiscent of the frenzy seen during the Ashes series earlier this year.

According to CA, total ticket sales for the BKT Tyres Men’s ODI and T20I series have already surpassed 175,000, leaving fewer than 30,000 tickets across all eight matches. Venues such as the Sydney Cricket Ground and Manuka Oval are already sold out, while the Adelaide ODI and Gabba T20I are fast approaching capacity with under 5,000 seats remaining each.

CA CEO Todd Greenberg expressed delight at the overwhelming response: “The sell-out MCG fixture is another testament to the incredible interest this series generates. To have over 175,000 tickets sold nearly two weeks before the first ODI in Perth is phenomenal. It shows the passion fans have for the Australia-India rivalry and the energy they bring to the game.”

Interestingly, Indian fans have played a significant role in this surge in ticket sales. Over 16% of total sales have come from Indian supporter groups, led by The Bharat Army, with over 2,400 tickets, and Fans India, with around 1,400. Other community groups, such as Brissy Baniyas and the Indian Community of the Gold Coast, have also contributed significantly, ensuring a sea of blue at every venue.
