Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the teenage batting sensation currently representing India U19, has caught the eye of the Rajasthan Royals after his record-breaking century against the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025. That innings not only made him a household name in India but also cemented his reputation as one of the brightest young talents in world cricket.

Since then, Suryavanshi has showcased his skills on U19 tours to England and Australia, impressing with his composure and flair. In the first Youth Test against Australia U19 in Brisbane, Suryavanshi blasted an impressive 113 off just 86 balls, demonstrating his ability to dominate high-quality bowling attacks.

As he prepared for the second game of the red-ball development series, he received a video call from former India cricketer and current Rajasthan Royals batting coach, Vikram Rathour. The interaction began with Rathour asking Suryavanshi about his batting and encouraging him to “keep enjoying” his game.

The conversation soon turned to fitness. “Fitness kaisa chal raha hai (How’s the fitness going?),” Rathour asked. Suryavanshi replied, “Accha chal raha hai (it’s going well).” Rathour then teased the young batter, saying, “Woh toh dekhne main pata chalega. Aaja tu (That we will know only when I see you. First you come back).” Understanding it as playful banter, Suryavanshi nodded, acknowledging the importance of staying disciplined in training and maintaining peak physical condition.

Suryavanshi’s IPL 2025 campaign had already drawn praise from the Royals’ former head coach and India legend Rahul Dravid, and the youngster has continued to impress. Scoring 252 runs at a strike rate of 206.55 for the Rajasthan Royals, he quickly became a key figure in the team. On the U19 circuit, he topped the scoring charts for India with 355 runs in the five-match Youth One-Day series against England, including a highest score of 143.
