India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has reportedly extended a special invitation to the entire Indian squad and support staff for a dinner at his Delhi residence ahead of the second Test against the West Indies, starting October 10 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. According to team sources, the gathering will take place in the open garden area of Gambhir’s home, offering players a relaxed evening to unwind and strengthen team camaraderie before the high-stakes clash.

However, if Delhi’s unpredictable weather brings rain, the dinner might be postponed. This will mark one of Gambhir’s first major off-field gestures as India’s head coach, aimed at building a closer bond within the squad. India currently leads the two-Test series 1-0 following a commanding victory in Ahmedabad, where they crushed the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja stole the spotlight with a superb all-round performance—scoring a century and taking eight wickets—to earn the Player of the Match award. KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel also made significant contributions with the bat, registering fine centuries that propelled India to 448/5 before declaration.
