Ahead of the second Test against the West Indies, Team India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, hosted a special dinner for the players at his residence in New Delhi on Wednesday evening. The event turned into a star-studded cricket gathering, as members of India’s Test squad—including captain Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, and bowling coach Morne Morkel—arrived together in a team bus to join their mentor for an intimate evening.

India are set to take on the West Indies in the second and final Test of the series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi from Friday, with the hosts aiming for a clean sweep after their dominant win in Ahmedabad. In the opening Test, India showcased their strength with a commanding innings-and-140-run victory at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The win marked India’s second assignment in the new ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle following their drawn series in England earlier this year. The Ahmedabad Test saw India’s batting unit dominate, posting 448/5 declared in response to West Indies’ 162. Centuries from Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja set the tone before the bowlers dismantled the visitors for 148 in the second innings.

Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round brilliance—scoring a century and taking four wickets—earned him the Player of the Match award. Following the Delhi Test, the Indian team will travel to Australia for a white-ball series, before returning home to host South Africa. With Gambhir’s mentorship and the team’s growing confidence, India will be eager to continue their winning momentum in all formats.
