Taimur Ali Khan might be growing up in a home surrounded by Bollywood royalty, but his interests lie far from the world of glitz and glamour. Kareena Kapoor’s elder son is deeply passionate about sports, especially cricket, and often surprises his mother with amusing questions about India’s top cricketers.

In a recent chat on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, Kareena Kapoor revealed that Taimur frequently asks if she personally knows Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli — all so he can request a cricket bat from them!

“The only thing he keeps asking is, ‘Are you friendly with Rohit Sharma? Are you friendly with Virat Kohli? Can you message them and ask if I can get their bat? Do you have a contact for Lionel Messi?’” Kareena said with a laugh. She also added that while most kids his age might be drawn to music or movies, Taimur is currently obsessed with football and supports Chelsea.

Apart from sports, he also shares his father, Saif Ali Khan’s, passion for cooking, often experimenting in the kitchen.

Interestingly, Taimur’s love for cricket seems to run in the family. His late grandfather, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, remains one of India’s most respected Test captains. He represented India in 46 Tests, scoring 2,793 runs at an average of 34.91, including six centuries and sixteen half-centuries.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are gearing up for India’s upcoming ODI series against Australia, starting October 19 in Perth. Quashing rumours about their possible retirement, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla clarified that both legends continue to play a vital role in India’s plans. “It’s wrong to say this is their last ODI series. It depends on the players when they wish to retire,” Shukla told ANI after India’s recent 2-0 series win against West Indies.
