Rajasthan Royals is one of the teams to return back to the league after suffering two years ban due to the spot-fixing fiasco. Just before the start of the league, they had to lose their skipper Steve Smith contrary to the ball-tampering ban issue. Immediately Rahane was chosen to lead the side but the team failed to give a good performance on their first encounter with the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Rahane and his team failed to put up a fight.Putting just a score of 125 on board wasn’t enough as the orange army openers Dhawan’s unbeaten 77 single-handedly took the team off to win. But yet another news has created some distress in the camp as their another foreign player seems to be ruled out of the game due to injury.

Sri Lankan pacer Chameera Dushmantha Chameera is suffering from a back injury and he will not be able to be a part of the 22 yards game. He was bought by Royals with an amount of 50 lakhs INR. He will lose at least first few weeks of the league and also might miss the Sri Lanka tour of West Indies. No reports had been made on a replacement.
Rahane feels that the team has great foreign players and star performers like Darcy Short, Ben Stokes, and Ben Laughlin but the lack of partnership building power is why the team has tasted failure. Siddharth Kaul and Bhuvneswar Kumar were great with bowling hand too. Rahane and the team are rather not thinking of loosing on Smith but looking for taking up challenges as a team on future.
