MS Dhoni’s daughter, Ziva, revealed her dream of becoming a naturalist in a conversation with a politician during a visit to Haridwar, Uttarakhand, on Friday. Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi, accompanied Ziva on the trip to the holy city, where they sought blessings from the Goddess of the River Ganga over the weekend.

Several videos from the visit have gone viral on social media. In one clip shared by Tanmay Vashishtha, secretary of the Ganga Sabha, Ziva is seen chatting with a local activist who praised her career choice as “very unique” for a 10-year-old. Sakshi also chimed in, expressing her hope that Ziva achieves her ambition.

Naturalists focus on studying plants, animals, and ecosystems, often working in the field as biologists. The Dhoni family’s social media activity suggests a long-standing affinity with nature, making Ziva’s aspiration seem like a natural extension of her upbringing.

Another video, recorded near Har Ki Pauri, shows Sakshi distributing food to locals under heightened security arrangements. The Dhoni family’s connection to Uttarakhand runs deep. MS Dhoni’s ancestral village, Lwali (also spelled Lawali), in the Lamgara block of Almora district, was the home of his father, Pan Singh, who migrated to Ranchi in the 1970s for work.

MS Dhoni’s bond with his home state is well-documented. In 2010, he was appointed brand ambassador of the Uttarakhand Tiger Conservation Mission and made an honorary wildlife warden of Corbett National Park. In November 2023, he and Sakshi visited Lwali, seeking blessings and participating in a puja, which quickly went viral, reflecting his enduring connection with his Pahari roots.

Though retired from all international formats, MS Dhoni continues to play in the IPL, with speculation ongoing about his return for Chennai Super Kings next year. All ten IPL franchises are expected to submit their final retained player lists by mid-November, which could provide more clarity on Dhoni’s future in the league.

Ziva’s unique ambition, combined with the family’s visits to Haridwar and Lwali, underscores the Dhoni family’s commitment to nature, tradition, and social responsibility.
