As Rohit Sharma wrapped up India’s tour of Australia with a classy century in Sydney, the Indian skipper once again proved why he’s among cricket’s most composed match-winners. But away from the cricket field, another moment caught fans’ attention — A mind-bending trick performed by magician and mentalist Naman Anand, who left Rohit absolutely stunned with his uncanny ability to “read” his thoughts.

In a viral video titled “I Read Rohit Sharma’s Mind”, Anand is seen performing a fascinating trick at a casual get-together featuring some familiar faces — TV presenters Samir Kochhar and Gaurav Kapoor, cricketer Shreyas Iyer, and former India batting coach Abhishek Nayar. The setup was simple: Anand asked Rohit to think of a name and keep repeating it silently in his head.

With a smile, Rohit Sharma followed instructions as Anand observed his reactions closely. At one point, the magician asked, “You haven’t spoken to this person recently, right?” — to which Rohit nodded in agreement. The atmosphere turned curious, with laughter echoing when Rohit quipped, “Main bol raha hun (I’m saying it),” as the mentalist tried to stay focused.

Moments later, Anand scribbled a name on his phone and showed it to the others, asking them not to reveal it. When he finally asked Rohit Sharma to say the name aloud, the cricketer said, “Azaan.” To everyone’s amazement, the name written on the phone matched perfectly. The Indian captain was left wide-eyed, while the room erupted in applause.

The video spread rapidly across social media, with fans flooding the comments section with hilarious reactions. One user joked, “Agar Rohit bhai bhool jaate ki kya naam socha tha toh? (What if Rohit had forgotten the name?)” — a playful nod to his lighthearted reputation for forgetfulness. Another teased, “Lagta hai Shreyas Iyer ko trick pata hai (Looks like Shreyas Iyer knows the trick).”

Amid all the fun, many fans also celebrated Rohit Sharma’s brilliant hundred at the SCG, where his unbeaten 121 helped India secure a nine-wicket win to end the series 1-2. His back-to-back knocks of 73 and 121* silenced critics who’ve questioned his longevity, reminding everyone that the 38-year-old still has plenty of fire left as India begins planning for the 2027 ICC World Cup.
